An Exciting First As P&O Cruises Australia Takes Guests on Its Inaugural Virtual Cruise

P&O Cruises Australia flagship Pacific Explorer is today sailing on the homegrown cruise line’s first virtual cruise on a feature-packed four-night short break from Sydney to Moreton Island in Queensland.

Thanks to social media, Pacific Explorer is departing from living rooms right around Australia in the virtual event hosted on P&O‘s highly popular Facebook and Instagram platforms.

Reminiscent of the joy of a real cruise, guests can enjoy favourite cruise experiences including deck parties, trivia quizzes, high teas and an entertainment package by high-energy and irrepressibly funny comedy juggler James Bustar.

James has created something special for the cruise with an action-packed video package providing a highly concentrated version of his hugely popular stage performance.

“We might not be able to cruise for the time being but we can still have fun and Pacific Explorer’s virtual cruise is the next best thing to keep the cruise vibe going,” James said.

“I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to again performing in front of a cruise audience and this four-day short break is a reminder of how great the entertainment is at sea.”

Adding to the virtual cruise excitement is a range of Moreton Island ‘shore tours’ including its celebrated dolphin feeding session via Facebook.

The event is the first ever Australian virtual cruise and follows P&O’s successful virtual entertainment month last July.

Popular guest entertainer Danny Black will kick off the cruise party with a live version of the popular game show Guess that Tune and newly-engaged couple and on board fan-favourites, Julie and Leeron, will host live trivia.

Other cruise highlights include a Dragon Lady high tea on Instagram featuring recipe items to make at home and a Rock Show performance on Facebook.

The virtual four-night P&O cruise sets sail at 4pm this afternoon (AEST) and will feature a regular line up of events until Friday morning.
