P&O Cruises Doubly Proud to Announce Second Pride Cruise

The popularity of P&O Cruises Australia’s inaugural Pride Cruise has prompted the cruise line to announce plans for a second Pride Cruise, with the new celebratory itinerary set to sail from Melbourne next year.

Unveiling details of the cruise on International Drag Day (Friday 16 July), P&O Cruises Australia President Sture Myrmell said the three-night getaway would feature plenty of fun and flair, including an entertainment line-up starring renowned drag artists Coco Jumbo and Etcetera Etcetera.

Coco Jumbo and Etcetera Etcetera recently appeared as contestants on the hit TV show ‘RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under’ and are experienced drag artists who will perform ‘one-woman shows’ on the Pride Cruise.

Mr Myrmell said the decision to offer a second Pride Cruise, departing Melbourne on 9 December, 2022, followed a strong response to the first Pride Cruise, scheduled to sail from Sydney in November 2022.

“We’ve had good bookings from the day we announced our inaugural Pride Cruise, and we think our second offering – this time sailing from Melbourne – is going to be just as popular,” Mr Myrmell said.

He said the cruises – created especially for members of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as their friends, family and supporters – reflected P&O Cruises’ commitment to diversity and inclusion.

“We’re very excited to launch these new cruises and fly the rainbow flag as we celebrate the importance of diversity and inclusion in our society.”

The Melbourne Pride Cruise will feature a range of community organisations that support the LGBTQIA+ community through health, well-being and social initiatives including the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation, as well as talented artists and comedians who are champions of equality.

Fares for the three-night Pride Cruise, departing Melbourne on Pacific Explorer on 9 December, 2022, start from $699pp for a quad-share cabin.
