Do I need a visa to visit Australia, including Norfolk Island?
For cruises visiting or travelling to an Australian port, where the cruise departs from outside Australia, the following visa requirements apply: If you are travelling on an Australian or New Zealand passport, or are an Australian permanent resident, you do not require a visa to enter Australia. If you are travelling on any other passport, you will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or appropriate Australian visa prior to travel. Visit https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder to confirm your visa requirements and to apply. It’s important to note that some nationalities are not eligible for an ETA and will require a visa which has longer processing times.
If you are required to obtain an ETA or Australian visa, you will need to show your ETA confirmation or valid Australian visa at the cruise terminal when you check-in for your cruise.
For non-Australian passport holders, when visiting Australia as part of your cruise itinerary (when the cruise does not end in Australia), your passport must be valid for the duration of your cruise. If your cruise is ending in Australia, your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay in Australia. If your cruise includes other countries in the itinerary, your passport will require a longer validity and you should check the specific requirements for each country.
