Can I bring electrical devices onboard?
For safety reasons, we ask guests not to use their own electrical appliances onboard except electrical shavers and approved medical equipment. Some electrical items and personal grooming devices, such as power boards, laptops, phone and camera charges, hair dryers, hair straighteners, curling irons and shavers may be allowed onboard if they are deemed to be in safe and proper working condition, and if used with proper caution. If any electrical device is deemed to pose a hazard, they will be confiscated and returned at the end of the cruise. Don’t forget, there is also a hairdryer in every room.
Electrical items that may pose a risk to the safety of guests and crew, including irons, steamers, kettles, coffee machines, other heating devices and remote control devices of any kind, including drones are not permitted to be brought onboard.
SAFETY ADVISORY: In 2016, Samsung announced a global “stop sale” and voluntary recall view recall notice here and exchange program on certain Galaxy Note7 smartphones. As such, please be advised that all guests in possession of a Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphone must take the following precautions.
- Turn off the device;
- Disconnect the device from any charging equipment;
- Disable all applications that could inadvertently activate the device (e.g., alarm clock);
- Protect the power switch to prevent its unintentional activation; and
Keep the device on your person or nearby in carry-on baggage. (Do not place in checked baggage.)
As our guest, please follow the above precautions while traveling on any of our ships, and if possible, please refrain from taking these devices with you on board.
