Island Discovery

Discover the tropical island paradise of Efate on this wide-ranging tour that will uncover hidden natural wonders, famous beaches, historic sites, scenic lookouts and the fascinating, time-honoured art of fire walking. Take a short walk through lush, tropical rainforest to Larofa Village. Here you will meet a traditional Melanesian warrior and learn about village life and customs. Not only will you witness the fascinating, time-honoured art of fire walking, you’ll also learn about the tradition, the sacrifices and preparation the men undertake prior to this ritual. It’s a one-of-a-kind history lesson you won’t find in a book. A light morning tea will be served here. Next, the name says it all, off to Eden on the River, where you can take a refreshing dip in the cool, fresh-water, natural swimming hole. Surrounded by dense jungle you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away from civilisation. Then, on to a tropical beach for a photo and another quick swim. As the tour continues past contemporary villages you’ll catch glimpses of modern village life. You’ll also pass by the remnants of the American Armed Forces involvement in Vanuatu during World War II. Next stop is a rustic local restaurant for a freshly packed lunch. Then you’ll continue along picturesque Havana Harbour to the famous beach used during the filming of Survivor Vanuatu! On the way back to Port Vila, keep your camera handy for the visit to Klems Hill Lookout offering amazing views over Mele Bay, Hideaway Island and the township in the distance.
