Vava'u is renowned for its blue marlin fishing in deep water, close to shore, at about 600 to 1000-meters in depth. Spend the day trawling lures and baits mainly for billfish, although it is likely that any one of several other pelagic species may be caught. All the equipment is first class, ranging from 30lb to 130lb line.
