Welcome to the Island that was known as the Amsterdam (Tongatapu). Discover the unique Tonga and it’s nature at the magnificent ‘Oholei Beach Resort. Taking off from Vuna Wharf you will travel through the capital of Tonga, Nuku’alofa. Cruise down to the western side of Tongatapu to view the spectacular blowholes and witness why is it called the whistle of the chief of Houma. After that you will heading South East to ‘Oholei Beach and the exclusive Hina Cave. Enjoy the sweeping coastal vistas and fascinating rock formations. The tour also includes a cultural performance and an ‘Umu( underground oven) style lunch will be served.

Special Notes

Entrance to Oholei beach has stairways of 60 steps which includes 3 rest platforms. It is recommended for physically able passengers only. Passengers unable to descend the relatively steep stairs can be transported on alternative route by 4WD vehicle. Please note that this is a considerably longer route and limited space is available so please inform your Shorex Manager prior to the commencement of the tour. Local buses are used for transportation. These buses are very basic and have neither air conditioning nor public address system. Restroom facilities may be rustic. To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please ensure that you wear comfortable flat soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat, insect repellent and bring along some sunscreen and bottled water.
