This tour offers a memorable half day visiting the highlights of Nuku’alofa and picturesque ‘Otuhaka Beach. First stop is the surrounds of Royal Palace, followed by the site of the Royal Tombs, where King George Tupou 1 and the rest of the late members of the Tongan Royal family are at rest. Then, travel west across Tongatapu, past smiling children and little villages, where lifestyles remain untouched by modern society. On the rocky coastline, experience the dramatic blowholes where mighty Pacific swells collide with the coast forcing water through natural fissures to spout nearly 30 metres into the sky. Passing through Kolovai Village, famous for its flying fox colony, reach your destination at 'Otuhaka Beach to relax or take a walk and enjoy the beautiful waters.
Capture the many fascinating sights of Nuku’alofa on film, but be sure to ask permission before taking any photographs of the local people.
Seasonal tropical fruits will be served at Otuhaka Beach Resort.
Snorkelling equipment is not provided, however, it is available for hire onboard. Reef shoes are recommended as part of the beach is rocky. The activity of the blowholes cannot be guaranteed.
To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please ensure that you wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat, SPF30+ or higher factor sunscreen and bottled water.
