Tonga

King of the tropics

All hail the king of the tropics; Tonga.

This string of 170-odd islands is the last kingdom in the South Pacific. With tight holds to the past, it’s fiercely loyal to culture, traditions and monarchy. The Tongans are decidedly unhurried the locals are well and truly on island time. And who can blame them? The ocean that surrounds Tonga is one of its greatest attractions, teeming with sea life and bright corals. It’s considered one of the best spots in the world to spot big, beautiful whales. Visit Tonga to contemplate life at a slower pace. Be dwarfed as you swim next to giant humpbacks or immerse yourself in ancient culture and traditions.

Zika Virus Update

Zika virus is transmitted via mosquito bites but it is thought that contracting it during pregnancy could be associated with a higher incidence of birth abnormalities. The virus has been reported in a number of countries including Tonga. We suggest you be aware of simple steps to protect yourself including wearing loose fitting shirts and pants and packing personal insect repellent (containing DEET, picardin KBR 3023, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus/PMD, or IR353) for your cruise.
