Your tour begins as you board the coach and wind through cane fields, coconut plantations and local villages including Sigatoka, a town that some of Fiji’s most famous rugby players call home. As you journey along the valley road you’ll see why this place is called the ‘salad bowl’ of Fiji as you drive past the many types of farms which contribute to the primary industry of the local economy.
On arrival to Nakabuta village you’ll experience famous Fijian hospitality and fascinating culture. Join in a Kava Ceremony, witness pottery making, participate in the unearthing of your Lovo lunch from the earth oven and then enjoy the delicious, traditionally-prepared feast.
A highlight of your experience is sure to be the traditional entertainment provided by the villagers, but be prepared you might even be invited to join them on stage.
Women are required to wear knee length skirts and tops that cover their shoulders. To make your adventure as enjoyable as possible please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, bring a hat, plenty of sunscreen, bottled water and local currency for additional purchases.
