Napier River Float Trip

Enjoy a relaxing day out on a grade 2 rafting float trip. Take a 40 km bus trip from Napier following the old Maori trails and the early settlers up into inland Hawke’s Bay. Change into wetsuits, booties, fleeces, and splash jackets, then travel 9km through the saddle to the other side of the range. Start your 11km float trip in a raft, through low canyons of cliffs and native vegetation. Depending on weather and water level, guests can float occasional rapids. The more adventurous can swim through a whirlpool. Or, you can relax and watch others participate or just enjoy the scenery. After approximately two hours on the river, change into dry clothes and enjoy a light lunch. Special Notes: Minimum age: 5 years Transport is not air conditioned Wetsuits may be required to wear overtop. Fleece tops and splash jackets are available if necessary Wear swimsuit under your clothes that can get wet and bring a towel Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and bring bottled water and towel.
