At the Waitomo Glow Worm Grotto, travel on an underground river through limestone caves illuminated by the flickering blue-green light of glow worms. The limestone formations include The Cathedral, an acoustically perfect auditorium that has hosted performances by such recording artists including the Vienna Boys Choir.

Photography is prohibited within the cave. Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and bring bottled water.
