Geological Panoramas Of The Peninsula

Tasmania is renowned for wild and rugged landscapes and dramatic coastal scenery. You’ll uncover breath-taking views and convict history on this tour of the Tasman Peninsula and Eaglehawk Neck. First stop on the tour is Eaglehawk Neck where you can view a unique rock formation, tessellated pavement. This area is also a significant site in convict history – you’ll see the Officer’s Quarters and ‘The Dog Line’ where savage dogs once guarded the isthmus to prevent convicts escaping from Port Arthur. Depending on conditions, next stop is Devil’s Kitchen or Tasman Arch, both marvels of nature where over the years, softer layers of rock has been eroded by the waves, leaving the stronger top layers withstanding. Continue on to see the dramatic Blow Hole. The final stop on the tour is Pirates Bay Lookout and the view is stunning. From here you’ll have views over the beautiful white sand beach, blue water and rugged rocky cliffs.
