Port Stephens on Nelson Bay is often described as the “Dolphin Capital of Eastern Australia” - its inner harbor is home to a resident population of 165 bottlenose dolphins. The vessel features three open observation decks with 360-degree views. Don't forget your swimmers and a towel! Back at the harbour enjoy free time to explore the local precinct. There's a playground for the kids, lots of local souvenir shops and plenty of waterfront restaurants, cafe's and pubs to grab a bite to eat. The origins of the Adamstown Pudding Kitchen date back to 1971, when a church member turned to her grandmother’s pudding recipe to make a dessert for a church fundraiser, in thankfulness for her brother returning safely from the Vietnam War. This original good deed has blossomed into a commercial kitchen now producing scrumptous gourmet puddings and sauces. Intent on returning good to the community the pudding kitchen operates as a not for profit organisation who support a range of welfare and community programs in Newcastle, Australia and overseas. Take a kitchen tour including a look at the old coppers, meet the volunteers and of course enjoy a taste of the puddings with tea.
