Kangaroo Island

Just 15 kilometres off South Australia’s mainland, Kangaroo Island is a wildlife sanctuary where you can spot local inhabitants at almost every turn.

Just a stone’s throw from South Australia’s mainland, this charming island is a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Seen by many as Australia’s ‘Galápagos’, it’s one of this country’s greatest natural treasures as well as one of its most surprising. A wildlife sanctuary without fences, it boasts amazing animal experiences. You can walk among endangered Australian sea lions, watch kangaroos feed at dusk or catch a glimpse of a shy platypus. It’s also heaven for lovers of fresh, organic food, with its luscious local honey, freshly-caught seafood and cheese made from sheep’s milk.
