Forest and Heritage Centre, Geeveston & Tahune Forest Airwalk.
Experience the beauty of this part of Tasmania with a visit to the Tahune Airwalk, where you can experience walking within the tree canopy. At the Forest and Heritage Centre you will gain a hands-on and visual interpretation of forest practices, both past and present, with visits to the centre’s four different sections, afterwards enjoy some free time in the historical township of Geeveston. Next at the Tahune Forest Airwalk you will walk amongst the treetops viewing Tasmania’s magnificent rainforest from 45 metres above the forest floor. The walk itself is more than 500 metres long amongst the forest canopy.
Bring your camera to get shots whilst on the airwalk, in particular the Big Tree Viewing Platform and Keogh’s Creek.
Enjoy a simple barbeque lunch, with tea or coffee, is served at the Tahune Visitors Centre.
To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please ensure that you wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, and bring along some sunscreen and bottled water.
