Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary & Historic Richmond

Explore the historic convict village of Richmond, home to Australia’s oldest Catholic Church, and visit the native Australian animals at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where you will see the pretty kangaroos, cute koalas and the fascinating Tasmanian Devil. Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is renowned for its incredible array of native Australian and distinctly Tasmanian fauna. You will be free to stroll around the park with your guide or independently at your own pace. At each natural habitat enclosure an animal keeper will be stationed periodically feeding the ever hungry inhabitants of this stunning park and providing you with all the fascinating facts and answering your questions. See the Tasmanian Devil, a rare Spotted Quoll, a pademelon or a potoroo. You will also have a chance to handfeed the pretty Forester Kangaroos which are normally only found in the wild on Maria Island and in Mt William National Park. Naturally you will also see the cute Koalas, who will no doubt be sleeping as they do for around 20 hours in each day. Next we stop at Richmond. The historic convict village of Richmond is home to Australia’s oldest Catholic Church. You will stop here for a stroll around this pretty town with your guide followed by some free time to continue your explorations, browse the local shops or enjoy a refreshment in one of the little tea shops.
