From Eden it is a 45-minute drive to Ben Boyd National Park where you will learn all about the whaling history of Eden. Glimpse the lives of the early settlers and walk through the cottage where the Davidson family lived next to the whaling station on picturesque Kiah Inlet. The stroll and talk will be richly interwoven with the whaling history of Twofold Bay, its legendary killer whales and their contribution to shore-based whaling. Spectacular views of the coastline south to Green Cape showcase the colorful and contorted ancient geology of Red Point. Learn about aspects of Aboriginal culture that have evolved over thousands of years and of the more recent interaction of Aboriginal and European cultures during the days of early settlement. Make your way to the Seahorse Inn for a pleasant lunch. The Inn was built in 1843 by flamboyant entrepreneur Benjamin Boyd, using convict labor, and is situated on the shores of Twofold Bay with stunning views across the water to Eden. A short drive returns you to the pier.
