Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas

Combine a visit to one of the oldest rainforests in the world, with free time in Port Douglas. A leisurely drive of approximately 1½ hours will take you from the pier along one of Australia’s most scenic coastal routes up to Mossman and Port Douglas. Nestled in the World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge contains one of the oldest, continuously surviving rainforests in the world. The Mossman Gorge Centre is a new indigenous eco tourism development and is the gateway to Mossman Gorge. Upon arrival at the visitor centre, you will be transferred to the rainforest paths to enjoy a guided walk with a local guide through the lush tropical rainforest. This beautiful area contains cascading waterfalls, towering mountains and colourful flora and fauna. Witness a traditional smoking ceremony and hear stories of the Kuku Yalanji culture and traditions with an experienced Indigenous site guide. During your walk, there will be time for you to take a refreshing swim in the clear waters that the gorge has to offer. After your visit to Mossman Gorge, a short drive will take you to the attractive town of Port Douglas. You’ll have approximately 1 hour of free time to explore the shops and purchase lunch in one of the many local restaurants or cafés. Special Notes: Lunch is not included in the tour but can be purchased during the free time in Port Douglas. Passengers are reminded to take local currency, wear swimwear and take a towel. The swimming is in a fresh water river and the currents can be strong depending on the amount of rainfall. Lockers are not available.
