Cruises to Cairns Yorkeys Knob
Cairns Yorkeys Knob
This delightful northern beaches suburb, located just a short drive from Cairns, has plenty to offer visitors.
Yorkeys Knob is a northern suburb of Cairns, named after a Yorkshireman called George Lawson who is believed to have arrived in the area with the insurgence of gold-diggers to northern Australia in the mid 1800’s. The knob itself is the first headland north of Cairns. Its boulders tumble into the ocean forming a calm bay on the northern side. On the southern side of the knob is a fabulous beach. In fact, the beach at Yorkeys Knob is a world-class kite surfing destination, rated 10 in the world.
