Departing the pier you'll traverse the rolling country hills on a tasting trail to visit a variety of venues including a master chocolatier, local farms and cellar door to meet the local producers.
Discover people who are super passionate about what they do and please your taste buds with a variety of samples and new taste sensations. Savour the variety of decadent tasters which include award winning chocolates, scrumptious cheeses, smoked salmon, ginseng and even crisp apple cider (or similar).
Visit the House of Anvers who use fresh Tasmanian cream, pure butter, exquisite liquors and natural flavours, along with the world's finest chocolate to create delicious confectionary. Morning tea is served along with an exquisite cup of hot chocolate!
Take a walking tour of 41° South an inland fish farm rearing salmon and ginseng in the pristine water sourced from the Montana falls. There are 20 fresh water ponds on site an up to 10,000 Tasmanian Atlantic Salmon in various stages of growth. You'll meet the owners and walk around the wetlands to discover how the fish and ginseng are grown. Taste the Salmon and ginseng products and enjoy a light fresh lunch whilst on site.
Complete the afternoon with more tastings as you head back towards Burnie. High quality cheeses are on offer at Ashgrove Cheese factory and a stop at Spreyton Cider Co. who are one of the few true tree to bottle cider producers in Australia to sample Tasmanian ciders.
