Spirit of the Coorong Cruise

Take a scenic drive through Adelaide’s Southern Region, the Fluerieu Peninsula to the river port of Goolwa. It’s the gateway to the Murray mouth and where the Murray River reaches the sea. Take a gentle eco cruise to the Goolwa Barrage and into the Coorong to view the mouth of the River Murray. Head into the pristine waters of the Coorong National Park, past spectacular white sand dunes and birdlife with informative and entertaining commentary from the Captain. At Godfrey’s Landing, take a guided boardwalk through the sand dunes of the Younghusband Peninsula to the undisturbed white sandy beaches of the Great Southern Ocean. Learn about the sand dune flora and fauna and how the aboriginal people lived in the area. Then, cruise further into the Coorong to see another barrage which separates the Coorong from Lake Alexandrina. End at Goowa wharf to head back to Adelaide and the pier. Special Notes: -Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and bring bottled water -The guided walks on this tour involve a substantial amount of walking -The drive to the cruise departure point at Goolwa takes approximately 2 hours
