An archipelago of 99 tropical islands (with five more revealed at low tide!) off the northwestern coast of mainland Malaysia, Langkawi is surrounded by the crystal-blue waters of the Andaman Sea. So it seems fitting to get acquainted with the area by hopping onto a sailing yacht and cruising these waters on this relaxing day-long tour.
Your day begins with a 30 minutes journey to a jetty , where you will board your luxurious sailing yacht. Equipped with everything you need for a relaxing cruise on the calm waters, the boat will make its way out among the islands, giving you excellent views out to sea and back at the lush foliage on land. You can choose to scout the area for flying fish or dolphins, or even try your hand at the helm with some help from the crew! Or, simply sip a cool drink and relax.
After a delightful morning of cruising the islands, your yacht will arrive at a secluded beach, where you will have time to take an easy walk through the rainforest in this tropical paradise or simply relax in a hammock, swim or sunbathe on the quiet beach.
Refreshed and rested, you will re-board the yacht for the sail back to Awana Porto Malai. Along the way, there is a fantastic spot where you will pause to snap some photos of the beautiful birds that give Langkawi its name: "Langkawi" is believed to be a combination of two Malay words, helang (shortened to lang), meaning eagle, and kawi, meaning reddish-brown - and indeed, the majestic sea eagle is a treasured resident of these spectacular islands. At this special spot, the birds come together to ride the winds and dive into the waters all around the yacht. It's a spectacular show, and you won’t want to miss it!
You’ll arrive back at the jetty after your day of adventure and relaxation with memories you’ll treasure forever. Stroll the short distance back to your ship, reminiscing about this special day.
Don’t forget your camera!
