Lorihua Exploring

Ambon, the capital of Maluku Province, is situated in the eastern region of the Maluku Islands, which is known for its natural beauty and cultural diversity. Depart from the harbor for a visit and photo stop at the Commonwealth of World War II, which is set in a tranquil park-like setting shaded by massive trees. Continue on to Suli Village and stop at Sopapei Beach to see the incredible Crazy Bamboo show. This dance, according to local beliefs, is possessed by spirits; the bamboo moves on its own, and the bamboo becomes heavier, challenging the men who carry it. On the next visit to a clear water rill in Lorihua, locals attempt to lure sacred eels out of their hiding places with boiled eggs, and it is said that seeing the eels is VERY good luck because they do not come out for everyone! Board the coach for the next stop in Amarumatena hamlet to see spice plants, tropical fruit trees, and Sago Palm trees used by locals to process sago, the staple of the Ambonese. Re-board the coach to the Martha Christina Tiahahu Statue, a well-known Ambonese freedom fighter. The top of the hill provides breathtaking views of Ambon. Finally, head back to the port, arrive in Ambon Harbor, and board the ship.
