Carnival plc trading as P&O Cruises Australia (‘P&O’, ‘we’) act as agent for the airline carrier in making your air travel booking through the P&O CruiseAir tool. It is important that you are familiar with your airline’s terms and conditions (which you will be bound by), including important liability limitations. IATA Conditions of Contract are available at www.iatatravelcentre.com/e-ticket-notice/1.htm. The guest who appears on the flight booking must be the guest who travels.
You have the option of booking Restricted Air or Flexible Air. Prices are per person inclusive of all flight taxes and fees except locally payable airport taxes. You should check baggage restrictions with your airline as fees may apply.
Restricted Air bookings are non-refundable. Cancellation will result in loss of the full fare. Changes are not permitted. Any changes, including name changes, will result in cancellation without refund and require rebooking, which may be subject to higher fares. Failure to check-in will result in cancellation of your flights, including your return flight, without refund. Prices include a minimum of 1 piece of checked baggage, the size and weight are as per the airline’s rules. Fees apply for additional and oversized pieces of checked baggage – please contact the airline for further details.
Changes are permitted for Flexible Air bookings 46 days or more before the outbound flight date or cruise departure (whichever is earlier) and may result in higher fares. Any changes, including name changes, made 45 days or less are not permitted and will result in cancellation without refund, and require rebooking which may be subject to higher fares. Cancellations 46 days or more before the outbound flight date or cruise departure (whichever is earlier) are permitted with full refund. Cancellations 45 days or less in advance are non-refundable. Prices include a minimum of 1 piece of checked baggage, the size and weight are as per the airline’s rules. Transfer prices are subject to change and are only valid on the day of embarkation/disembarkation. Transfers are not included in P&O CruiseAir bookings. When booking transfers only, independently booked flights must be booked to arrive and depart within our flight guidelines. Please contact our Customer Service & Sales team for our update flight guidelines. Should independently booked flights be delayed on the day of embarkation by more than the time listed in our guidelines, no guarantee or refund of the transfer can be offered. When booking flights independently, flight details must be advised at the time of booking the transfers. Transfers will be closed for sale 3 days prior to cruise departure.
Payments for CruiseAir and Transfers
Payment for Restricted Air is required at time of booking.
If you book Flexible Air, or transfers, after the final payment date of your cruise, you will be required to pay at the time of booking by Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Subject to the terms and conditions of your Future Cruise Credit, payments for Flexible Air (not Restricted Air), and payments for transfers, may be made using Future Cruise Credit when the payment is made before your cruise booking final payment is due.
A service fee of 1.1% for Visa and Mastercard, and 2.75% for American Express, will be applied to credit card payments, per transaction. There is no service fee for Visa debit, Mastercard debit, or prepaid/travel Visa & Mastercard products that are issued by a financial institution in Australia or New Zealand. The total amount payable for your booking, including any applicable surcharges will be advised to you before you proceed with payment.
Changes and Cancellations
Please note that cancellation of your air booking does not result in cancellation of your cruise, however cancelling your cruise booking for any reason will cancel your air booking associated with it, and cancellation fees will be applied, if applicable. If you also wish to cancel your cruise, please refer to the ‘Cancellation & Refunds’ section of the Booking and Travel Conditions applicable to your cruise.
Transfers are non-refundable within 14 days of the transfer date.
Late Arrival Protection
Guests who book air travel and/or transfers through P&O will automatically be enrolled in the P&O Late Arrival Protection Program. P&O will work with the airlines to find reasonable alternatives to provide commercial flights to the next appropriate* port at no additional cost to the guest when they have booked their air travel and/or transfers through P&O and:
- they miss, or will miss, their original embarkation time due to transfer delays, airline delays or an airline service disruption (such as flight cancellations or flight re-routes)^; or
- they miss, or will miss, their return flight due to their cruise arriving late into port or transfer delays^.
*Factors taken into account in determining the appropriateness of a port of call include, but are not limited to:
- government restrictions
- visas and other legal documentation or evidence that may be required
- application of the Passenger Vessel Services Act or similar Government acts or laws to the new itinerary
- airport/port infrastructure
- comparability of cost, flight connections, and travel time required (note, any refund due on the unused air ticket must be used to offset the cost of the new air ticket)
- where in the original itinerary this port is located
^Please note, Late Arrival Protection only covers delays for air travel and transfers booked through P&O. It does not cover you if you miss your flight for any other reason. Additionally, if no replacement flight is available due to circumstances such as a severe weather event or natural disaster, we will not be required to provide a replacement flight. Late Arrival Protection will not cover any additional costs such as meals and accommodation as a result of airline or P&O Transfer delays. Additionally, as airline delays are outside our control, your cruise fare will not be reimbursed in the event you miss part or all of your cruise. For this reason, we strongly recommend you take out comprehensive international travel insurance.
