Puerto Montt is the gateway to Chile's magnificent Lake District, passengers may travel to the pretty lakeside towns of Puerto Varas, and Petrohue, and Peulla. Passengers will marvel at the stunning scenery comprised of lakes, rivers, waterfalls, forests and mountains. Germans first settled Puerto Montt in the mid 1800's and many homes feture steeply piched roofs and elaborate balconies. Since 1985, the city has experienced resurgence with considerable growth and development.
