Princess Cruises Offers 90 Ways to Explore Europe

Date: 31 Mar 2008

Princess Cruises is offering a record number of ways to explore the wonders of Europe in 2009, with cruises to more than 130 ports stretching from the Holy Lands to the Arctic.

Launched this month, the cruise line’s new Europe program features 90 voyages on six luxurious Princess ships between April and November 2009. Prices start from NZ$1741 per person for seven-night cruises to Iberia and Scandinavia.

In response to popular demand, the new season includes more Holy Land cruises than ever before, with the intimate 680-passenger Royal Princess offering 12 sailings between Italy and Greece. Priced from $4009 per person twin share, these fascinating 12-night voyages visit the magnificent pyramids of Giza, the sacred sites of Jerusalem, Galilee and Nazareth, the Roman temples of Ephesus and the tranquil Greek Islands of Patmos and Santorini.

Also on offer is a stunning new "Top of the World" cruise - a 36-night round-trip from New York on the elegant 680-passenger Tahitian Princess, calling at some of the globe’s most remote northern ports.

Departing July 25, 2009, passengers on this cruise will visit Scotland, Ireland, France, the Faroe Islands and the Shetland Islands, as well as the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland, Greenland and Norway, with fares available from $14,148 per person twin share. Travellers can also opt to cruise one-way between New York and Dover, with fares for the two 18-night cruises priced from $7218 per person twin share.

Meanwhile, those keen to see the ancient beauty of Europe, while enjoying the latest in modern cruise comforts, should step aboard Princess Cruises’ new Ruby Princess which will debut in Europe in 2009. The 113,000-tonne megaliner will offer 17 different cruises through the Mediterranean and Greek Isles, with prices starting from $3379 per person twin share for a 12-night voyage between Venice and Barcelona.

Ann Sherry, CEO of Carnival Australia, which represents Princess Cruises in Australia, said the latest Europe program reflected the growing popularity of cruising in Europe.

"More and more travellers are discovering that cruising is the perfect way to explore the many lands of Europe, without all the hassles of negotiating international airports and changing hotels," Ms Sherry said.

"Our passengers simply unpack once, then relax and enjoy Princess’ legendary great dining and entertainment, as some of the world’s most beautiful locations come to them."
