Shore Tours

Exploring ports of call is one of the highlights of your cruise, and one of the best ways to do this is on an organised shore tour through our Island Discoveries program. Your Island Discoveries brochure is included in your ticket wallet and provides information on shore tours available during your cruise.

You will find many options for adventure and entertainment when you reach a port of call. You can opt for local sightseeing and shopping, or you may want to experience more of what your destination has to offer. A complete selection of shore tours like nature walks, snorkelling, visiting historic sites and monuments, meeting local families and many other adventures are available at each port.

Many shore tours have limited space available, so reservation requests will be processed in the order received; therefore, we encourage you to reserve tours as early as possible. When tours are fully booked, additional requests will be placed on a wait-list in the order received.

You can still participate in shore tours if you have limited mobility, however, access to tender ports may be restricted. Our shore tours staff will happily arrange a hire vehicle on your behalf and suggest suitable tour itineraries, please note that any additional costs incurred are the responsibility of the passenger.

You can pre-reserve your tours by simply completing the enclosed tour form and faxing it to +61 2 8424 9161 or mailing it to:P&O Cruises, Locked Bag 1014, St. Leonards NSW 1590

In order to process your tour selections, we must receive your form by the closing date listed (30 days prior). Once we have received and processed your request, a confirmation letter will be sent to you that ensures you have reserved your nominated tour(s). Your tickets will be delivered on embarkation day to your cabin and will be charged to your on board account.

Dress at sea

Daytime casual dress

During the day casual wear is suggested. Most of your holiday will be spent in a warm tropical climate, so lightweight summer clothes are recommended. But don’t forget to pack a jacket or cardigan as temperatures can be cool at night. And decks can be slippery so low-heeled shoes are recommended along with comfortable walking shoes for going ashore. Singlets, shorts and thongs are not permitted in the dining rooms or lounges after 5:30pm, so remember to bring some smart casual clothes to wear at night. Shoes must be worn at all times in the dining room.

Swim wear is only permitted around the pool and open deck areas.

There are two dress codes for the dining rooms on board: Smart Casual and Formal.

Smart casual evenings
  • Skirts/dresses, pants, and blouses for women
  • Long trousers and a polo or collared shirt for men
Formal evenings

Formal evenings are part of the unforgettable experience aboard P&O cruises:

  • Evening or cocktail dress for women
  • Dinner jacket and tie, or suits for men

These evenings are announced in the ship’s newsletter, the Pacific Daily which you'll receive on a daily basis from your crew.

Theme night dress

Cruises of 7 nights or more usually feature theme nights for passengers to enjoy. Costumes are available for purchase on board, or you are welcome to bring your own. So why not pack something and join the fun? Please see ‘Theme Nights’ for more information.
