Pacific Star Crew Member Evacuated

P&O Cruises said today that a crew member onboard Pacific Star collapsed this morning while the ship was en route from Cairns to Willis Island.
The 50 year-old Filipino national was medically evacuated by helicopter to Townsville Hospital where he received emergency surgery.
Pacific Star had been scheduled to anchor at Willis Island in the Coral Sea this morning. The ship altered course towards Townsville to accommodate the helicopter evacuation. Pacific Star is now sailing to Brisbane and is expected to arrive on Saturday, 3 November, as scheduled.
All relevant authorities have been informed.
