P&O Cruises Australia Voted Best Cruise Operator

Date: 18 Jul 2007

P&O Cruises Australia has won the National Travel Industry Award for “Best Cruise Operator” for the second year in a row.

Travel agents from around the country cast their votes for the award, which was presented at the 2007 National Travel Industry Awards dinner in Sydney on the weekend (July 14).

P&O Cruises Australia Vice President Sales John Molinaro said the company was extremely proud to receive the award, which coincides with its 75th anniversary this year.

“Winning this award two years in a row is a real honour. Our thanks go to the many travel agents who sell our cruises and who supported us with their vote.”

Mr Molinaro said that more than 100,000 Australians would cruise with P&O Cruises this year as it prepares to welcome its first superliner, Pacific Dawn, to its fleet in November.

“With her wide range of cabins, array of dining options and exciting itineraries, Pacific Dawn’s arrival will give Australians even more cruise holiday choices.

“There are exciting times ahead and we’re looking forward to working closely with agents to build their cruise sales further,” Mr Molinaro said.

Mr Molinaro also thanked P&O Cruises’ staff and the crew onboard its ships for the important role they play in supporting travel agents and ensuring passengers have an enjoyable holiday.

The National Travel Industry Awards are coordinated by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents.
