Kauai is known, as the Garden Island and was the location for "South Pacific". Just 9 miles northwest of Honolulu, 20 minutes by jet, Kauai is a peaceful and tranquil island where nature has created craters and canyons (Waimea Canyon is very spectacular), mountains and rivers and marvelous palm-fringed beaches. Kauai's volcanoes are now extinct. The official language is English, although Hawaiian and Japanese are heard often as well as pidgin, a kind of shorthand English. Although it rains in Kauai, it's not enough to spoil the visitor's fun. Average temperatures in the mid-70's, summer in the 80's.

And legendary Fern Grotto is on one of the most magical spots in the entire world.
