By night, each P&O Cruises' superliner is transformed into a glittering showboat offering as much entertainment as you could possibly want. Enjoy dancing or live music - we've got everything from jazz and big bands to pop music and disco. Catch a recent release movie or a spectacular show - our theatres and cinemas are West End style. Try your luck at the Casino or enjoy the subtler pleasures of a classical recital or a cocktail in an intimate bar. However you choose to spend your evening, you’ll find that good entertainment is never very far away.
Captain’s Cocktail Party
We're sure that you’ll soon make friends and get into the holiday spirit once settled aboard. You'll be invited to the Captain’s Cocktail Party where you can meet the officers, cruise staff and your fellow voyagers. We also hold a get-together for those travelling alone, giving another you another great opportunity to meet fellow passengers.
Gala & Theme Nights
Few things can compare with a night at sea and to enhance your enjoyment, the Cruise Director will stage several gala nights during your cruise. This selection may include “Country and Western”, “Carnival”, “The Mean Fiddler” or our “Black and White Ball” – a dramatically elegant affair.
Although cruising isn't nearly as formal as it once was, people still love to dress up and on Aurora, Oceana and Oriana there are a variety of Formal, Informal and Casual evenings. Adonia differs in that it does not have Formal Nights but instead has "Dress to Impress" which allows you to bring your own spirit and style to the evening without taking anything away from the enjoyment of dressing up.
Whatever the gala theme, you can expect to look forward to a splendid evening. You will be advised of which gala evening to expect in the ship’s daily newspaper.
Bars
Onboard all our ships you’ll find a magnificent selection of different bars to suit every mood. Enjoy an evening in Adonia's "All That Jazz" - P&O Cruises' first ocean-going jazz venue or add a sparkle to your evening in Aurora’s stylish Charlie’s champagne and caviar bar. Oriana’s clubby Anderson’s is the perfect spot for a post dinner cognac, or end another relaxing day watching the sunset from Oceana’s Pennant bar. At least one bar will be open from 9.30am right through into the small hours.
Cocktail of the Day
For something a bit different, why not sample our Cocktail of the Day? After dinner, you can savour a delicious liqueur coffee in one of the lounges or bars.
Parties Onboard
As a splendid alternative to drinks in one of the bars, why not hold a party of your own? You can order delicious canapés at the Reception Desk (they’ll even reserve you a lounge if you’re inviting lots of people). Your Steward/ess can provide liquor, mixers, ice and glasses.
