Dining
On our British superliners - Adonia, Aurora, Oceana and Oriana - the appetising dining options are endless. Whether you dine indoors or out, whether you savour six courses or go for Indian, one thing is for certain - your appetite is in for a treat!
Dinner
Dinner is a sumptuous treat onboard a P&O Cruises superliner - softly illuminated tables decked in fine linen, gleaming cutlery and polished glass and a vast array of delicious meals are all prepared meticulously from the finest ingredients by a brigade of international chefs. Of course, what you choose for dinner is completely up to you: from soup and steak one night, to a full six course meal the next. But one thing's for sure, every night is a memorable dining experience, complemented by the finest service from your dining and wine waiters.
For dinner we have ‘reserved’ sittings at 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Seating arrangements in the restaurant(s) are made by request on a first come first served basis. To request preference for first or second sitting please enquire as to its availability when making your booking. To avoid disappointment, you are advised to book as early as possible as sittings are allocated at the time of booking. Also, please let us know at the time of your booking if you wish to sit with a specific party or request a specific table size. Please note that tables for two are limited on all P&O Cruises ships and cannot be guaranteed.
Please also note that meal times can vary from time to time (usually on port days) and that on all ships, the main restaurants are non-smoking.
The Restaurants
Whichever restaurant you dine in, the menus and the degree of care lavished on the food and service are exactly the same. All passengers dine in one of the two main restaurants onboard our ships:
Alexandria and Medina on Aurora
Oriental and Peninsular on Oriana
Adriatic and Ligurian on Oceana
Traviata and Rigoletto on Adonia
You’ll find a card in your cabin when you embark giving details of the restaurant you’ll be dining in and the sitting and table allocated for dinner. Should you have any problems, the Restaurant Managers onboard will be pleased to assist you.

Wine Service
Fancy a glass of wine to complement your meal? Your Wine Steward is at hand to guide you through our extensive wine list. Modestly priced, we carry everything from fine Champagnes to good clarets. Simply sign for your wines and they will automatically be added to your account which you can settle at the end of your cruise. Also wine may be pre-ordered each day through the ‘Wine Line’ or at any of the bars.
Breakfast & Lunch
We normally serve breakfast in the main restaurants between 8.00am and 9.30am and lunch between 12.15pm and 1.45pm. This gives you the flexibility to eat at the time that suits you. Occasionally, when we expect more passengers to dine in the main restaurants, we’ll have sittings for breakfast at 8.00am and 9.00am and lunch at 12.15pm and 1.30pm.
On all ships, we offer continental breakfast in cabins from 9.30am to 11.00am.
On certain days we serve barbeques and specialty buffet lunches on deck, featuring authenic curries, crisp salads, meats cooked to perfection and delicious desserts.
Children's Dinner
Usually children will join their parents at breakfast and lunch. However, even the most affectionate parents may look forward to dinner on their own and we serve a special children’s “tea”/dinner aboard Aurora, Oriana and Oceana, usually at 5.15pm.
We look after babies too, with a wide selection of baby foods. Again, the earlier you let us know what you need, the better we’ll be able to look after the needs of your little one(s).
Special Diets
Naturally, we can provide diabetic, fat-free, vegetarian and gluten-free meals. A limited range of kosher food items are carried aboard our ships though the production is unsupervised. In order to give us plenty of time to place the necessary orders and also to give you the best possible service, when you make your booking or no later than 12 weeks before sailing please let us know your needs and/or any food allergies that you may have.
