Curacao

This island is the "C" in the ABC Island chain known as the Netherlands Antilles. The island was discovered in 1499 by Amerigo Vespucci, and came under control of the Dutch West India Company in 1634 and was included in the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1954. Passengers will enjoy the pastel -colored gable houses and some of the clearest waters in the Caribbean. The official language is Dutch however Papiamento, English and Spanish are also spoken.

General Information 

  • The ship berths at Prins Hendrik Wharf or Mathey Wharf, both located in Otrobanda-Willenstad, which is within walking distance to the centre of town.
  • Points of interest include Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge, Fort Amsterdam, Governor's Palace, Mikve Israel Synagogue (18th Century) and the Curacao Museum.
