Ann Sherry launches Catherine Freeman Foundation

Date: 13 Jun 2008

Carnival Australia’s CEO, Ann Sherry officially launched the Catherine Freeman Foundation last night after Catherine Freeman’s memorable naming of P&O Cruises’ superliner, Pacific Dawn in November 2007.

As a member of the Foundation board, Ms Sherry outlined the organisation’s vision of creating greater opportunities in education for disadvantaged Australians, in particular, young indigenous women.

Also in attendance were high profile guests including the Governor of Victoria, Professor David De Kretser AC, Mayor of Melbourne, John So and Olympians Andrew Gaze and Nova Peris.

P&O Cruises, which is operated by Carnival Australia, is an ongoing supporter of the Catherine Freeman Foundation through various fundraising initiatives.

Catherine Freeman is ‘Godmother’ of Australia’s first superliner, Pacific Dawn cruising from Sydney to the South Pacific.
