Auckland, New Zealand

Auckland's harbourside location has fostered the locals' love affair with the sea, and the yachts dotting the harbour are testament to this, earning the city its nickname as the "City of Sails". With more boats per capita than any other city in the world, Auckland really is a water lover's paradise.

Adding to the city's geographical allure, it lies across an 11 kilometre wide volcanic isthmus. A cloak of rainforest covers the surrounding hills, and dozens of dormant volcano peaks dot the landscape. Amongst all of this natural beauty is a wonderfully cosmopolitan city that buzzes with life from day into night.
