A prime destination for relaxation and adventure, the port of Santo is your gateway to all the island wonders of Espirito Santo.

The best of Vanuatu, Santo

1 of 1
Proof that the Vanuatu has more to offer than just endless white beaches, crystal waters, and blue skies (though you'll find all of those here), Santo is home to the world's most intact and accessible shipwreck – the 22,000-tonne President Coolidge.

Located on Espirito Santo, the largest island in the Vanuatu archipelago, Santo is a major export centre. The quayside bustles with activity; on a typical day you’ll see locals unloading sacks of copra that fill the whole quayside with a distinctive ‘coconut’ aroma. The town is located less than one kilometre from the ship overlooking the attractive Segond Channel.

Walking into town you pass handicraft stalls and remnants of buildings surviving from when the American’s were stationed there in WWII. Santo is becoming a popular destination because of its beautiful undiscovered beaches (many only a short drive from the ship), superb scuba dive sites, fascinating traditional villages and WWII American wartime relics such as the President Coolidge.

Traditional village life, firewalking ceremonies, water music and dance are among Santo's cultural curiosities to be discovered!
