If you use a wheelchair or have other special needs…

We must be notified of wheelchair usage and/or any special needs at time of booking. We have wheelchair-accessible cabins on all P&O Cruises ships, subject to availability at the time of request. We also have specialised kits for hearing impaired passengers available upon request at time of booking. If you require a mobility device, you must provide your own.

Please contact us well in advance, as lift-equipped transport may not be available in your port of embarkation or disembarkation.

It's important that you let us know of any special medical requirements or equipment at time of booking or at least 60 days prior to sailing.
If you require a special diet…
P&O Cruises are happy to meet your request for vegetarian or other special dietary requirements (some limited) wherever we can. Special diet requests must be authorised in advance, so please advise us at the time you make your booking, or at least 60 days prior to sailing.

Please let us know when you book, as there are some restrictions based on age.

Above board
On or above the deck, in plain view, not hiding anything.
Above-water hull
The hull section of a vessel above waterline, the visible part of a ship. Also, topsides.
Bear down
Turn away from the wind, often with reference to a transit.
Fender
An air or foam filled bumper used in boating to keep boats from banging into docks or each other.
Starboard
The right hand side of the ship when looking forward
Astern
Any distance behind a ship, as opposed to A-Head.
Dog-watch
The watches from four to six and six to eight in the evening.
Hoy
A particular kind of vessel.
Water line
The line made by the water's edge when a ship has her full proportion of stores on board.
Fresh away
When your ship increases its velocity.
