Taking Alcohol on Board 

You are not permitted to bring any alcohol on board for personal consumption. Duty-free tax-free and personal alcohol purchased onshore must be surrendered by passengers at embarkation or prior to boarding at any port. Duty and tax-free alcohol is also available for purchase on board and will be held under bond and returned at disembarkation in the final port of call.

All luggage, including hand and check-in will be x-rayed at embarkation and disembarkation. You must declare to Customs all amounts of alcohol in excess of the local Customs limits.

Above board
On or above the deck, in plain view, not hiding anything.
Abaft
Toward the stern, relative to some object ("abaft the fore hatch").
Abandon ship!
An imperative to leave the vessel immediately, usually in the face of some imminent danger.
Handsomely
Gradually, as "lower handsomely".
Beating to windward
Making progress against the direction of the wind, by steering alternately close-hauled on the starboard and larboard tacks.
Dog-watch
The watches from four to six and six to eight in the evening.
Gunnel
The large plank that runs along the upper part of a ship's side.
Hoy
A particular kind of vessel.
Water line
The line made by the water's edge when a ship has her full proportion of stores on board.
Fresh away
When your ship increases its velocity.
