TV

Getting away from it all doesn't mean being out of touch. Every cabin on P&O Cruises ships has its own TV. We offer a wide range of channels including news, ship safety information and movie channels, where satellite reception permits. We also feature a great choice of first run films some yet to be released locally in Australia. You can also find out what's happening onboard on Splash TV, exclusive to P&O Cruises.

Room Service

We're at your service any time, day or night. For a complimentary continental breakfast delivered to your cabin, just fill out the breakfast card included in your cabin compendium and hang it outside your door before retiring. For a full room service menu, please see your cabin compendium and call the number provided.

A nominal delivery charge applies to all in-cabin meals. The 24-hour room service menu is priced per item. Please note, room service is not available on the day of disembarkation.

Laundry and Dry Cleaning

Take advantage of our on-board laundry service for a change. All laundry is returned within 48 hours, or on the same day with our express service. We also offer self-service coin-operated launderettes with ironing facilities. There is a fee charged for these services.

Nautical Glossary

Abaft
Toward the stern, relative to some object ("abaft the fore hatch").
Abaft the beam
Further aft than the beam: a relative bearing of greater than 90 degrees from the bow: "two points abaft the port beam".
Beam ends
The sides of a ship. "On her beam ends" may mean the vessel is literally on her side and possibly about to capsize; more often, the phrase means the vessel is listing 45 degrees or more.
Dayboard
The daytime identifier of an aid to navigation presenting one of several standard shapes (square, triangle, rectangle) and colors (red, green, white, orange, yellow, or black).
Handy billy
A loose block and tackle with a hook or tail on each end, which can be used wherever it is needed. Usually made up of one single and one double block.
Handsomely
Gradually, as "lower handsomely".
Dog-watch
The watches from four to six and six to eight in the evening.
Griping
The inclination of a ship to run to windward.
Under the lee of the shore
Close to the shore, which lies to windward of the ship.
Fresh away
When your ship increases its velocity.
