The most important ingredient in our kitchens is variety. That's why we offer seven restaurants and cafes, including celebrity chef restaurant Salt grill by Luke Mangan.

With main meals included in your cruise fare and fresh food made, baked and served daily, we have every taste covered.

Your Choice Dining

Your Choice Dining means you can choose who you dine with, where and when. With extended evening hours there are flexible dining options throughout the day. There's also 24 hour room service available (charges apply).

 

Waterfront Restaurant

  • Full service, a la carte dining included in your cruise fare
  • Open for breakfast (7:30am to 9:30am), dinner (5:30pm to
    10pm) and lunch most days (12pm to 2pm)
  • Modern Australian cuisine
  • Make a reservation to dine as a couple or we’ll match you up
    with like minded, fellow cruisers
  • Tables are available for four to 10 people, and some for couples

 

Plantation Restaurant

  • Buffet style dining included in your cruise fare
  • Open for breakfast (6am to 10:30am), lunch (11:30am to
    2:30pm) and dinner (5:00pm until late)
  • Hot and cold options similar to the menu in the Waterfront Restaurant

 

The Grill

  • Serving classic Aussie favourites and casual meals including bacon and egg rolls, hamburgers, meat pies and more
  • Most items are included in your fare
  • Open for breakfast and lunch
  • Check the Pacific Daily for opening hours and specials

 

Salt grill by Luke Mangan

  • Open for dinner and lunch on most sea days, bookings are
    recommended
  • This stand out restaurant brings the very best of fine dining and the finest Australian wines exclusively to P&O Cruises
  • A small cover charge applies per person, a fraction of the price you pay on land

 

Luna^

  • Open for dinner, bookings are recommended
  • During each cruise the menu will rotate between Thai and Japanese-inspired menus
  • A small cover charge per person applies
  • Luna is available on Pacific Jewel and Pacific Dawn

 

The Cafe

  • Open daily from early until late
  • Get your regular caffeine fix or choose from the special chocolate-based menu with a range of sweet treats
  • Try the warm chocolate volcano or the freshly-baked Belgian waffles with chocolate sauce
  • Charges apply

 

Charlie's

  • Open daily, early until late
  • Serving pastries, cookies, cakes by the slice, espresso coffee and a range of cool drinks
  • Charlie's is a great location to sit back with a drink and take in all of the action and entertainment in the Atrium
  • Charges apply

 

Chef's Table

  • An exclusive dining experience held in the Wine Room for up to 14 guests
  • Start the evening with cocktails followed by a degustation menu paired with specially selected wines
  • The Executive Chef will make an appearance to introduce the menu
  • Bookings essential, charges apply

 

New Zealand Natural Ice Cream

  • Treat yourself at New Zealand Natural's only ice cream bars at sea
  • There are 16 flavours to choose from including our very own flavour - Chocolate Hokey Pokey!

Nautical Glossary

Above board
On or above the deck, in plain view, not hiding anything.
Beam ends
The sides of a ship. "On her beam ends" may mean the vessel is literally on her side and possibly about to capsize; more often, the phrase means the vessel is listing 45 degrees or more.
Bear down
Turn away from the wind, often with reference to a transit.
Fast
Fastened or held firmly (fast aground: stuck on the seabed; made fast: tied securely).
Handy billy
A loose block and tackle with a hook or tail on each end, which can be used wherever it is needed. Usually made up of one single and one double block.
Hand bomber
A ship using coal-fired boilers shoveled in by hand.
Starboard
The right hand side of the ship when looking forward
Beating to windward
Making progress against the direction of the wind, by steering alternately close-hauled on the starboard and larboard tacks.
Griping
The inclination of a ship to run to windward.
Fresh away
When your ship increases its velocity.
