Snorkelling children Snorkel equipment is available for hire from the Aqua Hut. This can be taken with you ashore and on your snorkelling shore tour, where equipment is not provided. If you want to purchase your equipment outright, a choice of Tabata high quality snorkel equipment is available. To make your shore tour more enjoyable, there is also an extensive choice of sun products and other essential items for sale.

The Aqua Hut is open on both sea and port days. Please check the Pacific Daily for scheduled opening times.

Nautical Glossary

Above board: On or above the deck, in plain view, not hiding anything.
Abaft: Toward the stern, relative to some object ("abaft the fore hatch").
Daggerboard: A type of centerboard that is lifted vertically; often used in pairs.
Handy billy: A loose block and tackle with a hook or tail on each end, which can be used wherever it is needed. Usually made up of one single and one double block.
Starboard: The right hand side of the ship when looking forward
Beating to windward: Making progress against the direction of the wind, by steering alternately close-hauled on the starboard and larboard tacks.
Dog-watch: The watches from four to six and six to eight in the evening.
Hoy: A particular kind of vessel.
Shallow, not deep.: Shoal
Fresh away: When your ship increases its velocity.
