Australians seeking premium cruise holidays are being offered a choice of six luxury liners next summer as part of Carnival Australia’s new ‘World Class Cruising’ program.
The program represents three deluxe cruise brands - Cunard, Princess Cruises and UK’s P&O Cruises, which are part of Carnival Australia.
The new ‘World Class Cruising’ brochure profiles more than 35 cruises from eight to 81 nights between December 2006 and April 2007. The voyages are available aboard Cunard’s giant Queen Mary 2, which will visit Australia for the first time next February, and the famous Queen Elizabeth 2, as well as Princess Cruises’ huge Sapphire Princess and boutique Pacific Princess and also P&O Cruises’ UK superliners Aurora and Oriana.
“The boom in cruising means Australians are now spoilt for choice when it comes to holidays at sea in our part of the world,” said Carnival Australia president Gavin Smith. “Our fleet of brands, including Cunard, Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises, now offer a level of luxury, style and glamour to suit everybody and every budget.”
Mr Smith said the bumper 2006/07 summer cruise season would see the historic arrival in Sydney on February 20 of the giant 151,000-ton Queen Mary 2 – the biggest liner to ever visit Australia. Her famous ‘little’ sister, the 70,000-ton QE2 will visit Sydney the same day as part of her 25th Silver Jubilee world cruise.
He said the season would also see the 116,000-ton megaliner Sapphire Princess sail on a series of cruises between Australia and New Zealand while her popular boutique sister, the 30,000-ton Pacific Princess would offer her fifth season of luxury cruises to the South Pacific, Queensland and Tasmania.
In addition, P&O Cruises’ elegant superliners Aurora and Oriana would provide classic British cruising experiences to and from Australia during their world voyages early next year.
