Chocolate lovers planning a holiday at sea should look no further than P&O Cruises, with its latest superliner, Pacific Jewel, set to feature a dedicated chocolate café onboard.
A first for an Australian-based ship, the sweet-tooth haven will offer passengers some enticing treats including chocolate ravioli, warm chocolate fondant, freshly baked Belgium waffles and a range of cookies and chocolate cakes baked daily.
And while sipping on a cup of freshly made gourmet hot chocolate, passengers will be able to make contact with family and friends back home using internet facilities located within ‘The Café’.
P&O Cruises Vice President Hotel Operations Sture Myrmell said the new café reflected the growing trend towards specialist chocolate outlets around Australia.
"Australians are one of the highest consumers of chocolate in the world with every Australian consuming an average six kilograms of chocolate a year, so we think our new café will go down a treat," Mr Myrmell said.
Debuting in Sydney this December, Pacific Jewel will offer a range of dining venues from the fine dining restaurant, Salt Grill by Luke Mangan to the more casual restaurant, La Luna.
Passengers can enjoy the gems of the South Pacific – and plenty of chocolate - on a seven- night Pacific Jewel cruise departing Sydney February 23 and calling at Noumea and Isle of Pines in New Caledonia. Fares are available from $1239* per person twin share.
