Young passengers onboard a P&O Cruises Australia holiday can now learn about the marine environment in a new education program launched by the cruise line.
The program, called Ocean Friends Club, was developed with Sydney Aquarium and is designed to educate and entertain children who attend the two onboard kid’s clubs.
The program runs on every cruise and consists of a variety of activities including interactive ‘touch and feel’ activities, art and craft and energetic games.
At the end of the cruise, children who take part in the program receive free entry to Sydney Aquarium.
Sture Myrmell, Vice President Hotel Operations for P&O Cruises said the Ocean Friends Club was an exciting new initiative for younger passengers.
"We hope our new Ocean Friends Club will encourage our younger passengers to play a role in protecting the oceans so that future generations can continue to enjoy the beauty we encounter every day at sea," Mr Myrmell said.
Sydney-based Pacific Dawn and Brisbane’s Pacific Sun have two kids’ clubs to cater for all age groups - Turtle Cove for three to six year olds and Shark Shack for those aged seven to 12 years. Both clubs offer continuous kids holiday activities in a safe and secure environment.
